More next week

We got some good ones! (can you hear the hallelujah chorus in the background?)

the park

she loves to swing

If we ever have a boy

I'll be purchasing this costume.
Cracks me up.

Happy Halloween

Here's to totally not caring. I never can get into this particular holiday. I'm sure that will change when my little one is old enough to appreciate it. Until then I'm saving all my energy, money, creativity for my favorite....Christmas!

Chillin' in her crib

I love this one. It's her "just woke up from a nap" face. Sometimes she greets me with the giggles when I open the door. And sometimes she greets me with this expression.

Hi again.

There will be lots of new photos to post this week. Finally.

I'm still in a visual slump though.

This Week's Lovely List

1. That massive box full of the good chocolate sent from Canadian pals.
2. Hot shower when I'm freezing cold.
3. A brilliant idea for my sister's bday present.
4. The pleasant sound of two French ladies chatting at the fabric store. I could listen to that all day.
5. A repeat customer.
6. My clean and organized sewing room.
7. My Quilting sister. (because I can get rid of fabric scraps without feeling guilty)
8. Tried a new pattern for my personal apron collection. It's a cute one. I'm into short & frilly styles these days.
9. L's morning conversations....with herself. :)

Artists and their inspiration

I have always been fascinated and curious about what inspires people who create. Sometimes I'd rather see the notebook than the final product.

Check out what inspired this dress

And I love where the idea came for this girl's paint colors

The Good Report

This week I'm celebrating the following lovely things:

1. Friendly Folks.
The employees at my favorite grocery store have restored my faith in quality customer service.

2. Sacrament Meeting.
A certain talk addressed a current struggle (uh No, I will not be sharing).

3. Conquered fears.
(Mine would be pressure cooking). I restocked the pantry with 35 pints of homemade refried beans.

4. Custom orders.
Thank you, lovely woman from NJ.

5. Husbands that clean.
J returned home from work one night and went on a cleaning rampage. I really love it.

6. Family Time.
Dinner at local burger joint and evening stroll around nearby park is good bonding.

7. Mediocrity.
Thanks to my very, very low expectations the shop has already exceeded them.

8. A baby that sleeps.
Even when sick she still gives me 10 hours. Yes!!!

9. Single fold bias tape.
I'm hooked. It looks very professional.

10. Salty and fizzy.
The only things that soothe my sore throat.

11. $1.50 pumpkins
(my favorite grocery store again!)

12. Cool people.
Hangin' on a Saturday night with our favorite PA pals is the best.

13. French seams.
Also very professional looking.

14. And finally... feeling better
so I can take care of the other two sickies.

The Best of the Best

my favorite conference talks:

L. Tom Perry Simplify

You know Enough

The Infinite Power of Hope Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Come what may, and love it Joseph B Wirthlin

President Monson reminded me to find joy in the journey. Today.

Happiness, your Heritage Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I'll be reading this list often in case the poo-poo mindset takes over again.

New Banner

My favorite graphic designer just whipped this up for me. I'm partial to the red with white text options. Here's my fave:

{but I'm open to other people's opinions before I decide}.

The Good Report

1. Jeff surprised me with NKOTB's greatest hits (wasn't it his birthday?). ah, Memories.....
2. Baby Julia joined the family.
3. Hubby's birthday
4. Tested my theory that ignorance is bliss by no longer watching the nightly news. It worked.
5. Seven straight days of great hair. Woohoo!! (pics coming soon)
6. A surprise visit from Jessie. Late night chatting and breakfast with your favorite pal is awesome. She left a sweet note that is now sitting on my nic-nac shelves.
7. Baby L's sniffles cleared up. And we discovered two new things that make her laugh....blowing my nose, biting her cheek.
8. The chill in the air......love it!
9. Made some progress with the PA needlepoint
10. General Conference helped my attitude (list of my faves coming next)

A few quirks

1. I can't relax if the house is messy.
2. Runny noses make me gag, but a poopy diaper... No problem.
3. I check my email A LOT.
4. Sewing sometimes makes me swear (in my head, of course)
5. I still love New Kids on the Block.
6. Swimming in the ocean always scares the crap out of me. Although beautiful, my mind can't forget it's full of millions of undiscovered life forms. Yikes!
7. Speaking of the ocean....drowning is also a very big fear of mine.

Let's makeover

I'm trying to decide how I want my blog to look so things might look weird and change often over the next little while. Decisions, decisions. I think I want to call my blog "the good report" since Leslie Krout Photography doesn't really exist. Hoping to convince Kevin to design a banner. We'll see.

I couldn't be more excited about general conference this weekend. I've been thinking a lot about some of my favorite talks over the years. These are the ones I haven't forgotten and literally changed me after hearing.

Here's a list of my favorites:

The Grandeur of God Jeffrey R. Holland
To the Young Women Jeffrey R. Holland
Forgiveness Gordon B. Hinckley
The Virtue of Kindness Joseph B. Wirthlin
Mothers Who Know Julie Beck

what's on your list?
