The last few frames

I shot these trying to finish off a roll from the family reunion.

(slight blur, but still sweet)

White on white

I've been gradually building my pillow collection for the bed. There really isn't any more room, but I haven't stopped thinking about this one.
I really want it.

I'd love to have the bedroom I envision before baby #2 comes. But I've been holding out for gigant-o frames to go on sale (for faux headboard) and searching for a perfect rug at the end of the bed. A girl can dream......

The Good Report

1. A package from my swap partner arrived. Looking forward to trying new recipes from the cookbook she sent.
2. 1 hour ALONE at the fabric store.
3. Handy husband repaired his own motorcycle, saving us lots of money. Again.
4. Tried something new at our favorite Mexican place. It was sooooo good!
5. More pool time.
6. Catching up with a great friend.

Rafting trip

Our pre-trip photo.

I had no idea there were rafts big enough to hold all of us, but we only had two. And it was more like lazy river than anything. Which is exactly my speed. No rapids and you could easily stand in most places. It was some of the most beautiful, clear water I've ever seen. Thanks, Nate (our guide)!

Mom, I'm still so proud.

L in black and white

She wouldn't have anything to do with the mustaches

July 23, 2009

My mom

She's never looked so lovely than in her peasant top.

After submitting her to the mustaches, I was so happy to get this candid of my mom. I love it. Made possible by my two year old niece who kept saying, "look right here" and pointing to the camera. When my mom saw this image she said, "wow I have a lot of grey hair." Looks awesome, Mom.

I'm lovin' it

I came across this quote in the most recent issue of Real Simple magazine:

"It isn't the great big pleasures that count the most; it's making a great deal out of the little ones."

--Jean Webster, Daddy-Long Legs

I think I need to put it up on my sidebar somewhere because it's ringing so true in my life right now.

{Mustache} Photo Booth: The Collection

I just couldn't wait for the rest so I'm posting what I have.

Hooray for my fam who were good sports about this one. I was very doubtful everyone would participate. But they did. And after it all I forgot to have Jeff snap one of me. Argh!!

Mini sombrero: purchased from Partyland.
Adult sombrero: Dollar Tree
Mustaches: Restoration Hardware last Christmas
Blanket backdrop: I have no idea. Jeff had it since before we met.

Yellowstone Nat'l Park {Details}

So you have to keep in mind that I am so NOT a nature photographer. Most of the time things like this bore the crap out of me. And also we visited the park in the middle of the day (ugliest light possible). This is as good as it get folks. And it's not great.

We've been to Yellowstone one other time. In the dead of winter (snowmobile trip). And now that I've visited in both seasons I think I prefer winter. The park is completely empty and stunning covered in snow. Plus, I seriously I hate crowds (they freak me out) and summer heat.

The Good Report

1. Baby Abby joined the family on Tuesday. 6lbs 9oz, 20 inches. (Congrats Nate and Ashlee)
2. Glass Co. replaced windshield after it cracked again on our trip.
3. Bro in law did not get fined when pulled over for driving our car with expired registration. (oops. thought we had until end of July).
4. L seems to have avoided catching family pukes that went around at the reunion.
5. Although not drastic Jeff admits it is easier to get himself out of bed in the morning (oxygen mask). Maybe there is hope.
6. A Saturday evening at the pool. Perfect.
7. Macey's cereal sale. 10 boxes of cereal for $15.

4th of July {Aunt Gayle's}

a little late, but here are a few from the 4th....

I think I'll do this every year. And next time I'm buying those ridiculous Uncle Sam hats I saw at Partyland. Oh the possibilities!

My dad. Who has the best blue eyes.

one of those pics where it was in my head this exact way. I love it when that happens.

Headband from Target's dollar bins.

P.S. Thanks, Trevor, for letting us borrow your flag. (It flew at the State Capitol)

Here we are.....

All 33 of us in our "matchy-matchy" glory

Gone for a while

I'll be back next week. Sometime. Headed to family reunion tomorrow.

July 05, 2009

The Good Report

1. L cries less and less when dropped off to her class on Sundays.
2. Finally got around to getting massively cracked windshield fixed on our car (courtesy of our insurance)

Check out this video of one of my favorite designers. I love to peek into where people live/work. And I'd love to drop by her studio for a visit.

And I'll be making one of these very soon.

When I get bored....

....I pull out the polaroid.

Let's go girly

Since we are having another girl (no longer need to hold out a neutral room) and I need a house change I'm getting ready to make their room super girly. That means adding pink and orange to the mix in the form of art, accessories, pillows, blankets, etc. Red chair stays, grey walls stay.

{not my photo but Thanks, Martha}

I'll be purchasing some of these tissue balls from here and packing their room with chandeliers of color. And I'll get around to making this pillow pattern (zinnia pillow). And I'm thinking they need some flag garland too.

****P.S. I'll see lots of you tomorrow and all the rest next week with Fourth of July photos. The next few days are going to be very busy.
