The Good Report

1. Nearly completed eight more pairs of pajamas for L. She's growing out of the last set.
2. Alone time at my favorite place. I walked away with a cute pair of earrings. And I'm contemplating an amazing scented candle for my nightstand.
3. Kraft paper covering the kitchen table and colored pencils has entertained L for hours.

The Good Report {Peaches Edition}

This week my sister got the annual hook-up from her in-laws. Free peaches from their orchard! And lucky for me she always includes me in the bounty. So, so, so grateful about that. So we canned 32 pints and 16 quarts. I peeled like mad and she sliced and poured.

Here's what is great about canning your own peaches:

1. Candy sweet. and flavorful. (store bought canned peaches. well, they are nasty)
2. Feeling like you might have something to eat when baby #2 is born.
3. Getting to chat and catch up with my sister.
4. All those jars look so stunning (pics to follow).
5. The hard work always feels good and makes you appreciate what you have.
6. Knowing exactly what ingredients are in that jar because you put them there.

Other good news:
1. Project Runway is now on Lifetime. A channel we get.
2. More sewing. Finished some of the decor for L's b-day party. Not until Dec, but if I don't do it now it won't get done with a new baby.
3. Alone time at the mall. Looking at lovely things. And a stop at See's candy.
4. Home Depot's $3 paint samples. I'm testing "possibly pink" for the sewing room.

On a totally unrelated note, check out the cutest wedding photos ever.

The Good Report

1. Mornings with the windows open and a breeze flowing through the house.
2. Marathon errand day and L was a dream even when pushed way beyond her normal limit. Perfectly content reading her book from Target's dollar bin.
3. My favorite OB assured me all would be fine delivering at a different hospital than last time.
4. Did a bit of sewing after very, very long hiatus.
5. Found a good home for some unused frames/shelving. (I want to purge the entire house.)
6. The Sprint store gave L her very own phone. It seems real enough to satisfy her. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. More 70 degree weekend weather.

Home sweet home

I try not to post the products I love on this blog, but my latest batch of photos had some scanning issues. So until the film is rescanned posting will be scarce for a week. Anyhoo....I can't stop thinking about this print or all things home for that matter. This so reminds me of my Nebraskee roots.

And speaking of Nebraskee roots I'm off to photograph a nearby corn field this weekend in the hopes of producing a worthwhile print for our home. Wish me luck....or wish me glorious evening light.

I wear my sunglasses

I bought these for Lauren this summer and she loves to wear them around. Probably because she knows we will laugh and give her lots of attention.

The Good Report: Monday Morning Edition

Feeling slightly emotional (ok, A LOT emotional) and overwhelmed for several days. I haven't done any of the things on my "must get done before baby comes" list. No ready-to-cook meals piled up in my freezer. And running out of most that was canned last October. Anyone else notice I only have 8 weeks left before baby arrives? Yikes! Also, I've been feeling major motherhood guilt for L's quality of life over the past few months. And lately tantrums are increasing and she has been waking up during the night. To sum #2 feels way more scary than baby #1 ever did.

But I can't deny the good this week:

1. Four straight days of 70 degree weather and I am in H-E-A-V-E-N!
2. More old pals in town....dinner tonight.
3. A sat night party/reunion with "the branch". Those were great times and great memories. And even greater people.
4. Fall catalogs are arriving. Bring it!
5. Lots of good cries this week. The kind you feel better after.
6. A friend reminding me that this is just a phase. Not my whole life for ever and ever and ever. Good point. (I love support from other moms)
7. Jeff convinced me to get a new phone. Mine was literally falling apart. All I care about is that it was FREE.
8. And my husband him, love him, love him for all the little things he does.

The Good Report {BFF Edition}

Our Canadian pals our in town all week. Here's the highlights from the last couple of days:

1. They introduced us to a great new burger joint. With yummy onion rings.
2. An afternoon at the pool.
3. Chatting it up and feeling like they never left.
4. They came bearing gifts. Tees for the girls. The good chocolate for me.
5. L likes to play with the kids.

Today it's crab leg dinner at our place followed by their family pics.

P.S. I need to make this.
And I stumbled across this blog. She designs windows for Anthropologie {sigh}
