I'm loving this....

And hoping our home has this feeling for us and our girls. Now and as they get older.

Gemütlichkeit is a German abstract noun that has been adopted into English. Its closest equivalent is the word “coziness”; however, rather than merely describing a place that is compact, well-heated and nicely furnished (a cozy room, a cozy flat), Gemütlichkeit connotes the notion of belonging, social acceptance, cheerfulness, the absence of anything hectic and the opportunity to spend quality time.

Cheeser!

Amidst all of her acting out since we've been home I'm trying to remember that she is completely lovable and hilarious.

The Good Report {Birth and Delivery Edition}

I'm feeling like it's kind of important for me to remember the good amidst all the trauma this week. So here goes....

1. I've never felt closer to Jeff.
2. Glad I got all those doctor appointments in before baby was born. dentist, dermatologist, and on and on....
3. My sister. There are no words.
4. Prayer. Lots of words. and floods of emotion.
5. A loving husband.
6. Making it to the hospital.
7. A healthy baby.
8. I was secretly hoping for a September baby.
9. The two days in the hospital were total bliss. Quiet. Peaceful. And relaxing. It was perfect.
10. (Physically) I feel ten times better than I did with L.
11. Breast feeding is also better than it was with L.
12. It's a very sweet time at our house.
13. Jeff is home with me for another entire week. Yes!

Cute photo of Megan

See it HERE

I like it so much I think I might actually buy some.

Megan Margaret

Born 9:31 P.M. on Sep 22nd
6 lbs 8 oz
18.5 inches

She was early. Unexpected. and Fast. No time for an epidural. No choice. No kidding. Definitely not cool. I have no words since I am still processing the last 72 hours. I think I'm traumatized. and I'm sure I won't be blogging. For a long time. I'm a pile of overwhelmed, happy, and relieved tears.

Here are some pics. (We also did not have a camera since we left the house in such a hurry).

L loves her, but shows signs of hating us. We've been getting all kinds of dirty looks and she gets mad about everything. Says "no" to everything. Acts out about everything. Good times.

See everyone when I emerge from the postpartum coma. I hate this part.

The Good Report

1. A great Stake Conference left me feeling happy and hopeful about the future.
2. A surprise day off during the week.
3. Made it to IKEA for another crib.
4. Lunch in the park and Jeff pushing L in the swing for an hour. She was in heaven.
5. Neighbor gave us garden tomatoes and potatoes.

And how about this blast from the past. Bring on my childhood!

The Good Report

1. I finally found a white cake stand for the right price. $10 at Target. It was in the Thanksgiving section if you want to grab your own.
(glad I didn't buy these)
2. Canadian pals were back in town.
3. Fresh haircut.
4. Nice chatting it up with my VT partner during that haircut.
5. L no longer has bangs hanging in eyes. Thanks to same VT partner.
6. Getting your hair cut a block away from home is quite nice.
7. Alka-seltzer rules! Oh, how happy I am I got over my fear of that chalky mix....because my nightly heartburn was gone within minutes.
8. A friend loaned me some maternity clothes for these last few weeks.
9. Finished sewing a baby gift for another friend. A major accomplishment at this point in pregnancy.
10. Took all those piles of crap to D.I.
11. My favorite eye cream was finally in stock at local dept. store.
12. Dinner out as a family Saturday night. New place. Perfect summer night. Letting L roam the sidewalks of downtown.
13. Chicken for less than 99 cents a pound at grocery store. Stocking the freezer is awesome.
14. Husband who always says, "it's okay if you need to be grouchy". Which happens a lot lately.
15. An OB who is excited even when I'm not.
16. Some new accessories I'm hoping will help me feel slightly less schlumpy dumpy.

P.S. Fabric lunch bags rule!

Peaches for free

I ran out of steam and never took the photos I envisioned in my head. That's pregnancy. But these babies were/are divine. Along with the 32 pints filling my pantry we had enough for one fresh one a day for about two weeks. Yum. Thanks again, Em. Next year I'll have to photograph the way I wanted.

I love to swap

Want an apron? And have some cute products of your own? Let's trade. I still have lots of lovely colors (just not listed in my shop)

Rosie Posy clip from Cakies

P.S. I'm wondering at what age little girls actually keep pretty things in their hair. It lasts about 15 minutes with L. Until she realizes there is something in her hair and pulls it out. Arrrrgh!

One of my best ideas

Covering the table with paper was a major hit and it lasted for several days. L would literally run to it every morning. Now I will be purchasing a giant roll of paper from Xpedx to keep on hand for our "art table". My mom used lay out roll paper for us on the floor and we would make/draw all kinds of things. My favorite is when she would trace our bodies and then we would color it in. Good memories.

I love those tiny hands.

The Good Report {Home sweet Home Edition}

I've been adding lots of little things around the house. I'm happy with the cheery additions. Still lots more to do and some day I will get around to photographing nicely. Until then, here's a quick peek:

In our bedroom:

Pillow cover made using Erin McMorris leaf dots in orange.

Diamond wire chair notecard
I'm seriously in love with this print and matte. It's a 4x5 print in a 16x20 frame. Love, love, love it.

In L's bathroom:

Red chair print
I am a child of God print

Next up I'll be making new sillhouettes in the colors of the "I am of child of God print" and hanging in this bathroom.

And in L's bedroom:

Red Butterfly print

P.S. I really want to make some of these for the new baby. I've got some pretty fabrics that would be just perfect.

Bed head

Every morning she's got something different going on with that crazy hair. And usually she's pretty grouchy when she wakes up.
Jeff says, "just like her mother".

It's true. I can't deny.

I think I need to start a photo diary of her bed head.
