Guilty, guilty, guilty

"When friends come over and compliment you on your lovely home, do say thank you and refrain from telling them everything you'd like to change if only you had more time and money," Kimberley says.

I've done this so many times. But I won't be that annoying girl anymore. Because it's annoying and unnecessary. And really, really annoying.

  1. Ethan and I have had this conversation more than once. When given a compliment accept it graciously and don't say anything else. Trying to downgrade whatever compliment was given really is rude to the other person and isn't really an act of humility on your part.

Take the compliment and leave it at that.

  2. Taking compliments graciously is something I've worked really hard on. It's still not easy, especially with my home, because I always see the projects I want to work on rather than what I really like.
