Sew many things

My heart is longing to camp out in the sewing room, but there is no time. And honestly, my energy is tapped taking care of daily life. Plus, Summer isn't the time to lock myself inside. Maybe when it consistently hits the 90s and I want to live comfortably in my air conditioned home rather than die of heat. I keep dreaming that I will be able to start and finish a project when September hits. That's when L goes to preschool three mornings a week. It depends how real life is though. M entertains herself easily, but who knows how baby #3 will be. I'm not holding my breath about this precious sewing time I desire, but it would be awesome. I just want to make something pretty. Is that so wrong! LOL. I have so many lovely fabrics that I want to dive into.

Here's what's on my list:
Finish that baby quilt using Oliver and S City Weekend.
A couple nightgowns for the girls. L will L-O-V-E them, for sure.
Finish pile of pajama pants for M.
Bed tents.
Baby blessing dress for me. (View B in black and white polka dot). But this is a very close second choice.  Oh, how I'd love to wear more dresses. This is the start.

Little lady

No particular reason for these. Just that the afternoon light in their bedroom is THE BEST and super flattering. We usually spend a bit of time playing (changing their outfits fifty times) in there at that time of day. I try to close my eyes and they jump all over me. L would like to wear a dress every day of her life. So I need to make some summer (tough enough for outside play) ones.

I ♥ giant walls of flowers

(I think I'll enlarge this for hanging)

(she's faking)

I've been slightly obssessed with flowers lately.

The good report

1. Smoothies are rocking my world.
2. My little hospital stay reached $$$ five figures $$$. Cost to us = ZERO figures. Grateful for insurance (understatement).
3. Five whole days with Jeff home and off work.
4. Woah, finally some allergy relief for L. Sheez. I'm in over my head.

I dream about it every Summer. Some people actually do it. Beautiful. I'd start MY table off with this. I've almost bought it a few times.

Sisters

My heart melts when they get along and help each other, comfort each other, and make each other laugh. Because they can also fight like mad.

Sunday, Sunday

(Poor L and her allergy raging face.  You can see it in this photo.  It got real bad.)

It was Mother's Day. And I'm applying that oh-so-motherly advice: if you can't say anything nice.....

It ended well anyway. With a great meal.
Sometimes when things are like that I force myself to see beauty to compensate.   I think it's a healthy alternative to punching everyone in the face.

Sunday Drive

I can't get this girl to take regular naps. But put M in the car and she is a goner.

White out

This needs to be a series. I shot one frame this day.

Hang it up

I used these IKEA frames. El cheapo!

Jeff wanted them displayed in a more prominent place "so everyone can see them". I felt the same way, but the problem is all our prominent places are occupied. My original vision was to have them hanging in our bedroom, but we are doing something else in there. This area is at the top of our stairs (a very prominent place, actually). I'm standing in our master bedroom doorway. Girl's bedroom to my right and their bathroom on the left of the frame. I am totally surprised how much I love the asymmetrical arrangment.

I dig it.

All About M

She's always up for adventure and fun, and walks
climber, jumper, runner, somersaulter, scooter rider.
could live off a of cold cereal, cheese, and bread.
Picks on, teases, and beats up L.
Laughs easily and often. Her laugh is so awesome.
Is easily pleased and entertained throughout the day
But when she's mad you'll know it. watch out. her tantrums are fierce.
Comforts L often when she is sad (which is also often)
Insists on dressing herself.
Copies what L likes, but I'm not convinced it's what she really likes.
Outside play is her fave.
Has recently taken a liking to milk served in a sippy cup.
Knows exactly what she wants.
She likes to wear socks and shoes even in the house.

Summer bucket list

Attend a baseball game
Splash park
Make homemade icecream. Multiple times.
Motorcycle date to Ruthie's
Go camping
Roast Marshhmallows with friends
Outdoor movie with neighbors
Hit up the local rodeo
Sundays....we Grill!
Make homemade rootbeer (from my childhood)

I'd say this is pretty ambitious considering I only have 10 weeks left until baby. We'll see how much we can do.

The good report

1. My heart is softening about some motherhood stuff. (Read and read again. And then I'll read again. Until I am changed. Some talks are life changing, you know.)
2. Got some of these printed. Mmmm, my print lab gave me some beauties.
3. And Jeffy got started hanging them around the house.
4. He also did all the grocery shopping this week. (I need a lot of help)
5. Went out with the family and photographed a giant bush of yellow blooms (roses maybe?) today. That was on my "I really should drive over there and photograph that" list. Because I always gawk when I drive by them. Mmmm, so pretty.
6. I was moved by lots of the music at church today. So nice.

That L, she's my go to beauty. (M was passed out in her carseat).

I'm not a poser challenge

Oh man, I loved this post. And I'm doing it!

These are two pins I'm picking:

dip dyed tablecloth. Intended to make for Easter. Now, shooting for Father's Day meal. (see more examples HERE. wowee!)
Kitchen TV cover. Hoping to use a piece of fabric from my stash.

I love me some follow-thru. I'll be sure to share when complete.

The best beadhead

I always look forward to her morning hair. Seeing what she comes up with every night amuses me.

The good report

1. 3 pints of strawberries from a neighbor. Gone in less than a week.
2. Grilling with the neighbors. Great food!
3. Hopped on the back of Jeff's motorcycle for the first time in a really long time. And we went and saw the Avengers. Awesome.
4. Grateful a ward member is arranging a weekly park day. I don't have the energy to organize, but we are happy to show up and socialize.
5. Jeffy fixed the bottom drawer of my nightstand. That guy! He fixes everything and I LOVE IT.
6. He also fixed a dryer problem this week. (I prefer the role of damsel when it comes to household maintenance).

A couple of weeks ago Stephmodo asked me if I wanted to do a house tour (aw, shucks). I'm on the fence about it. Have you seen the house tours on her blog? Are you kidding me! Wowza. I'm afraid our place is totally LAME (in comparison). Though I do have a few photo skills to swing our place in a favorable light. I don't know. Then there is my laziness (having to photograph it all). Or the bigger issue of strangers evaluating my life/home. Ew.
Anyhoo....

Speaking of strangers evaluating.....Never saw this shout out until I stumbled upon it this week. Weird, but cool. But weird.

Beautiful blog alert. This post has quilt color inspiration written all over it.

It's Mother's Day peeps. All my dreams will come true if I get a nap.

Frame it

Just got a bunch of prints back from the lab. They glow in person. Can't wait to get everything hung up.

More from Jessica

This one time I said I would cherish my third pregnancy. Something along the lines of savoring all the moments and make a big deal out of it. blah, blah, blah. This is where I insert ironic/hysterical laughter. Because savoring gets pushed aside when you are just surviving.

But I'm glad I made it a priority to have a few photos taken during this pregnancy. Something I've never done with the others.

Can't wait to get some of these printed up for our walls.

Just one day

Turns out immediately after nap is a great time to photograph a two year old. She's still sleepy enough that she will sit and stare you down before being fully alert and on the move again. Awesome information.

Star jammies

They are her fave.
When we get home from running errands she likes to slip into these.

And still trying to see how many expressions I can capture. Her eyes can melt.

f2.8, 1/8 second. I like to test my handheld skills.
Makes me feel kind of awesome.

The good report

1. That Jeff, he breaks the ice of my motherhood tension, often. I pretty much need him. He's better than I am.
2. And he listens to me sob at three o'clock in the morning about all the things keeping me up at night. Important things.
3. Jeff fixed a bunch of things around the house. Three broken doors, unclogged the drain in the girls bathroom, repaired the window screen the girls pushed out, a baseboard that had pulled away from the cupboards. So happy!
4. I've taken a liking to wearing my hair curly. But can't get repeatable results.
5. Finally got around to getting some family pictures printed. They'll be hung similar to this. But where? Haven't quite decided since our space is in need of large art. I'll share when I get them up.
6. L's allergies have slightly improved. I feel so sad for her. She got it bad this year. They were raging earlier in the week. Including hives, swollen eye, then pink eye. At least she's not all swollen anymore.
7. Found a pretty top to wear on Mother's Day. And will also look super cute with skinny jeans. Dress up or down....my fave.
8. The girls were amazing on the above shopping trip.
9. Finally made it to a Rooftop concert. The most beautiful night. Felt so much like summer. It was F-R-E-E peeps. I'm now a fan of Ryan Innes. He was way better than Peter Breinholt (I've never really been able to get into his music).
10. Even Jeffy enjoyed it. (He tends to get a little skittish when things get too UT County).
11. L danced and made friends with all the college kids around us. Typical. Then gave us a flip out tantrum when we put her to bed that night. Also, typical due to the late night exhaustion. (And those are the moments I ask myself why we try to do anything outside of schedule. Ever.)
12. But then she slept in until 9:15 the following morning. THAT is the reward.
13. 8 pack of those little wedding bubbles from the dollar store. Man, I gotta stock up on those. They are awesome.
14. Hair color. Life is just better when its freshy fresh.
15. My film was ready for pickup (down the street) after hair appointment.

I think I need to get my ears re-peirced since I haven't worn earrings in a year + (nickel allergy).

I feel like I have entered the waddling stage of pregnancy.

I want to be spoiled on Mother's Day. It's the truth. And wear something really pretty to church. And set a pretty table. And eat doughnuts.

Nate Berkus for Target. Um, yes, please. This could be real good. Looking forward to October 21st

So many faces

I've wondered if I could capture some of the expressions the girls make. They are limitless. Here are a few....

Sometimes she wakes up in this mood in the morning. Poor dear needs to be held.
This child feels things so deeply.
Oh, and she took to my shirt as a nightgown. She thought it was awesome.
Also, her skin flipped out this year with her allergies. You can see a little bit of it in this pic.

And she recovered from her mood quickly....
